 Update -- April  29, 2007

Dear Divers and Parents,

Are you all jazzed for the upcoming meet?  I am!  You have been working hard and have been diving better and better...should be a fun time and a good chance to get to know some of the other divers in our community.

Justine and Braden have been going crazy learning new dives!  Justine has her 301C 1M and 103C 1M now, and Braden added his 401C, 102C, 201A, and 202C, all on 1M (although he decided to learn all these on his own during free dives, he says he hates his 201A and 202C -- go figure!). Emily has learned all the skills (and more) needed to compete in the Future Champions Program!  Lance has recovered his full list on both boards since coming back from his injured ankle, and Jace has been showing some amazing learning over the last few weeks.  When he keeps his legs together and stretches his entries, he's amazing to watch! BJ has been getting his dives back at the Kaiser workouts on Mondays, and may join us.  Even Coach Jeff is looking pretty decent for a trying-to-get-back-in-shape 40 year-old.  And Aleia, visiting after just finishing up her freshman year at FSU and coming off a 10th place finish on platform at the USA Diving Spring Nationals, will add some more elite diving to our showing.

HDA ASSOCIATION CHAMPS

The meet begins at 10 AM (9 AM to 10 AM for warmup) on Sunday, May 6th.  Let's please meet at the pool by 8:30 AM so we can stretch out and wake up our bodies, plus make any last minute changes we need to on our lists.  Directions to the UH pool can be found by clicking here.

Lance and Justine have already completed their lists.  I am going to hand deliver my entry to the pool on Wednesday (the in-hand deadline).  On Tuesday, May 1, at 3:30, we will fill out sheets for Jace, Braden, and Emily.  PLEASE BE ON TIME AND BRING YOUR SHEETS!!!

NO WORKOUTS MAY 8 TO MAY 14

Coach Jeff is going to Fort Lauderdale, FL, for the FINA USA Grand Prix Diving Event.  He is going to a judging school to be certified to judge international events, and also to learn the ropes of being a team leader for US National Teams.  Enjoy the week's break!

ALOHA STATE GAMES

Coming up next is the Aloha State Games, on Sunday, June 3!  Information about this meet should be available at this Sunday's Association Championships.

I'm hoping to get the deaf divers ready for that meet, and have a larger representation, maybe even as big as last year's!

CONGRATS TO OUR FRIENDS AT SUNSHINE DIVING  FOR THEIR PERFORMANCES AT THE USA DIVING SPRING WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations to Nikki, who placed twelfth in the 11 & U girls' 1M and 14th in the 3M and Joey, who placed 17th in the 11 & U boys' 1M.  Let's plan to join them at next year's nationals!
