Dear Divers, Parents, and Supporters,

Several of our divers and I take off for Maui tomorrow to compete in the HHSAA State Diving Championships.  Please send out positive vibes, particularly between the hours of 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM on Friday and Saturday for Ashley, Kai, Beau, and Mark.

February 8 and 15 (ILH Champ's, OIA Last Chance Meet) Highlights

Congratulations once again to Kai, Beau, Mark, and Ashley for their performances in their respective meets over the last week.  Ashley  competed int he ILH Varsity Champsionships and finished a strong 4th, with the promise of improvements to come as we move into the final stretch for states.  Particularly noteworthy were her 104C and 403C for 6s.    Kai dived exhibition in the Last Chance meet, and threw his new 303C, and hit his 401B and 403C for 7s.  Beau earned his second State qualifying score with another personal best.  Mark also earned a personal best, scoring 16 points higher than his previous best and earning his first consideration qualifying score.

TLDT 2008 Competitive Schedule

We are set for the Portland Region 10 Meet, March 8-9.  Those who have expressed interest in going have been given all the details, and if anyone else decides they want to go, please contact me ASAP!

We will attend the Summer Regionals in either  Tucson, AZ on June 13-15 or Santa Clara, CA, June 20-22 (already leaning toward the latter date, so we have time to do some double workouts after school lets out).  Those who place in the top 15 will move on the the Zone Championships in Los Angeles, CA, July 10-13 and those who place in the top 12 at the Zones will move on to Nationals in Rockville, MD, August 12-15.

For a look at the complete schedule for 2008, please see the HDA Calendar of Events.

Oh, and by the way, in order to be eligible to go to the Regional level, TLDT Divers must have a complete Junior List in the events they plan to compete.  For the 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18 age groups, this includes doing optional dives that have an average degree of difficulty of 2.0 or higher, which basically translates to front doubles, 1 1/2s in every other direction, and twisters with at least 1 1/2 somersaults or 1 1/2 twists.  So, if you are interested in getting to this level, let's take advantage of all the trampoline and dryland work we will do over the next few months to get us ready!  New Info:  13U boys and girls and 14-15 girls need only 3 optionals,  14-15 boys and 16-18 girls need 4 optionals, and 16-18 Boys need 5 optionals.
