Update -- December  31, 2009

 

Dear Divers, Parents, and Supporters,  

Tonight we bid a fond farewell to 2009, and welcome in the hopefully greatest-yet year, 2010 :)  We also end our 9-day break (sorry, frequent-flier award tickets necessitated such a long trip this time for us) with a New Year's Workout from noon-2 PM at Kaiser, for all who want to come :)

High School Scene

Ashley, Cristin, and Maria dived in the first two ILH "season" meets on Dec 12 and 19.  Maria dived well in the first, with a PB of 376, but even better in the second, breaking her PB and earning 379.  She is doing very well with the change in her vols to straight :)  Ashley had a rough day at the office on Dec 12, but did a number of nice dives, especially her 201B,  301B, 403B, and 203B.  Performing better the following week, she did a solid twister, and had a number of great tops (just couldn't find her entries) and did the best 303C she's done in a long time :)  Cristin lucked out by not getting full practice time for either meet, and dived under-prepared.  She managed to pull out state qualifying scores regardless, and had a number of great dives in each competition (103B, 301B, and 5231D in the first meet; 401B, 5221D, 403C and an incredible top on her 104C in the second).

Our OIA divers (BJ, Hunter, Krystal, and Demetrius) have had two "pre-season" tune-ups, with BJ earning 383 in his first full list since his "incident" in November.  He is ready to roll for the season!  Hunter and "D" are each two dives from having varsity lists, and "D" already has states-level DD.  Krystal has been working very hard and showing a great deal of improvement, and has 6 of her 11 dives :)  Tyler is coming along as well, with 8 of her 11, and Hayley was on her way before her ankle injury (hope the time off has helped!).  Hopefully Jay of Pearl City is getting his Athletic Department Clearance and will be ready to compete at Kalani as well.
